Jennifer Birchfield-Eick (born November 10, 1966) is an American television and film producer who is married to Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick. She appeared uncredited in the Miniseries as Ellen Tigh in a photograph that Saul Tigh burns with his cigar, before the role was cast with actress Kate Vernon.

Career

Birchfield-Eick has established herself as a prominent producer in both television and film industries. She is known for her work as an executive producer on the MGM action-comedy franchise Agent Cody Banks (2003) and its sequel Agent Cody Banks 2: Destination London (2004), both starring Frankie Muniz.

Her production credits also include work on Hard Target (1993) starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Throughout her career, she has developed and sold projects to major networks and studios including ABC, CBS, CW, Fox Broadcasting Company, MTV, Nick at Nite, Showtime, Mandalay, MGM, Sony, and Walt Disney.

Television Work

Birchfield-Eick produced the ABC series "Bob Patterson" and developed pilots including "The Whitey Show" for MTV and "Let Bob Do It" for Nick at Nite. She created a television and film production company headed by Jason Alexander, where she scouted talent and developed various projects for comedy and drama series, TV movies, and feature films.

Connection to Battlestar Galactica

In the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries, Birchfield-Eick appeared uncredited as Ellen Tigh in a photograph that her character's husband Saul Tigh burns with his cigar during the opening scenes. According to DVD commentary by Ronald D. Moore, David Eick, and Michael Rymer, she was used in this photo because the role of Ellen Tigh had not yet been cast when the scene was filmed. After actress Kate Vernon was cast as Ellen Tigh, the scene was recreated for the episode "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down," where Vernon's likeness replaced Birchfield-Eick's in the photograph for the retconned flashback sequence.

Personal Life

Birchfield-Eick is married to Battlestar Galactica executive producer David Eick. The couple has three sons: Alexander, David, and Jackson, who attended Curtis School and Campbell Hall before continuing their education at Carnegie Mellon University, University of California, Berkeley, and Brown University.

Currently residing in Encino, California, Birchfield-Eick is actively involved in community service. She is a certified graduate of the Community Police Academy and serves on the Encino Neighborhood Council's Outreach Committee, the West Valley Community Police Advisory Board, and participates in the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count. She also serves as a Neighborhood Crime Watch Captain in her community.

In addition to her entertainment industry work, Birchfield-Eick has transitioned into luxury real estate, currently working as an agent with the David Kramer Group at COMPASS, specializing in properties along the Mulholland corridor and Ventura Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley.
