• CF: Colonial Fleet
• CO: Commanding Officer
• ECO: Electronic Countermeasures Officer
• FTL: Faster Than Light (Miniseries)

Military Jargon

• Actual: the commanding officer
• five-graph order: a basic command tool taught to officer candidates (Fragged)
• knuckle dragger: mechanic
• nugget: a pilot in training
• Mark One Eyeball: using the unaided eye or doing something manually
• rook: short for "rookie" (Miniseries).
• sitrep: shorthand for "situation report".
• snipe: engineer

• frak: Colonial version of "fuck"
• skin job: derogatory term specifically for the humanoid Cylons. Homage to the movie Blade Runner
• toaster: derogatory term for the Cylons

• chamalla: hallucinogenic plant used in religious ceremonies and medical treatments
• cubit: unit of currency
• dradis: Colonial equivilant of radar
• fumarella leaf: tabacco or a specific kind of tobacco
• G-4: type of explosive similar to modern C-4
• krypter: Colonial version of "mayday"
• morpha: Colonial equivilant of morphine
• Triad: card game similar to Poker
• tylium: mineral that can be refined to a powerful fuel
• Pyramid: popular Colonial ball game
• wireless: Colonial term for radio
