In the Original Series, a medtech is a medical assistant that often combines the functions of a paramedic and nurse.
Cassiopeia assumes the role of medtech under Dr. Salik aboard Galactica.

- The Re-imagined Series uses the conventional term of "medic" for the assistants of Dr. Cottle.
