| Reason I Showed the episodes that Leoben had starred in was because i've got about 10 friends that keep asking everybody "what episode did number 3 star in where she did such and such" and etc. So I figured it would be convienent for me to go ahead and list the episodes Leoben had starred in. | == Response to your removal of this question ==

|
| |
| Has the respect and admiration for Admiral Adama been decreasing ever since his speech in "Unfinished Business"?
| |
|
| |
| I put this down mainly because of his speech in Unfinished Business and In the Day of the Life. The latter episode had in a moment when his late wife told him that he had gotten better at ignoring the hushes and the stares as he walks down the corridors. This seemed totally in contrast to the admiration that was very apparent at the beginning of the series and the loyalty that many of the officers displayed towards him. The new episode Dirty Job seems to reveal that there has been some dissolving of his admiration by the crew. Anyhows, those were my arguements for that question and did not consider it fan wanking. If that question could be considered that, than many other questions after "Unfinished Business" should be removed as they keep on noting how Adama seems to have gone back on his speech. --LifeStar 10:26, 26 February 2007 (CST)

| == Production numbers and episode titles ==
| |
|
| |
| The production numbers listed for each of the third season episode is 100% wrong.
| |
|
| |
| What is listed is a sequence number, not a production number. Here are the production numbers:
| |
|
| |
| 39. 3- 1 03001 (T2701) 6 Oct 06 Occupation
| |
| 40. 3- 2 03002 (T2702) 6 Oct 06 Precipice

| |
| 43. 3- 5 03004 (T2704) 27 Oct 06 Collaborators
| |
| 44. 3- 6 03005 (T2705) 3 Nov 06 Torn
| |
| 45. 3- 7 03006 (T2706) 10 Nov 06 A Measure of Salvation
| |
| 46. 3- 8 03007 (T2707) 17 Nov 06 Hero
| |
| 47. 3- 9 03008 (T2708) 1 Dec 06 Unfinished Business
| |
| 48. 3-10 03009 (T2709) 8 Dec 06 The Passage
| |
| 49. 3-11 03010 (T2710) 15 Dec 06 The Eye of Jupiter
| |
| 50. 3-12 03011 (T2711) 21 Jan 07 Rapture
| |
| 51. 3-13 03012 (T2712) 28 Jan 07 Taking a Break from All Your Worries
| |
| 52. 3-14 03013 (T2713) 11 Feb 07 The Woman King
| |
| 53. 3-15 03014 (T2714) 18 Feb 07 A Day in the Life
| |
| 54. 3-16 03015 (T2715) 25 Feb 07 Dirty Hands
| |
| 55. 3-17 03016 (T2716) 4 Mar 07 Maelstrom
| |
| 56. 3-18 03017 (T2717) 11 Mar 07 The Son Also Rises
| |
| 57. 3-19 03018 (T2718) 18 Mar 07 Crossroads, Part 1
| |
| 58. 3-20 03019 (T2719) 25 Mar 07 Crossroads, Part 2
| |
|
| |
| Until today's episode, I couldn't be sure about the T27nn numbers. Those appear to be a different control number, which might be related to the Comcast versions.
| |
|
| |
| The 301 → 319 numbers are listed as "episode" numbers on the tape slate. The 030nn numbers are the "production" numbers.
| |
|
| |
| The other mistake is related to the episode titles. You are using "I" and "II" for the two-part episodes. The correct titles, for accuracy, are shown above. Those are the titles as given on the master tapes. Vidiot
| |
|
| |
| :The writers, especially RDM, generally refer to "Occupation" and "Precipice" as one episode, thus shortening the season to 19 episodes. But pretty much everyone else counts them as two episodes. Whether that split is there or in "Exodus", doesn't really matter IMO. We are also under no obligation to follow supposedly official naming conventions with something as trivial as numbers. Personally I think roman numerals look better. --Serenity 14:03, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
|
| |
| ::Maybe I am under a very misquided impression, but it is my understanding that Wiki's are supposed to be a source of accurate facts. Incorrect episode numbering and titles does not fit the definition of accurate facts.
| |
|
| |
| ::As for RDM and the writers considering the first two titles as one episode; that will have to be worked out between them and NBC/Universal, which assigns the official production numbers. As to why Exodus was given a single production number (with A and B suffexes) and Crossroads two unique production numbers is unknown. You'll have to take that up with, yep, NBC/Universal. I can only report as to what I know as the facts, only the facts.
| |
|
| |
| ::To you, the I and II might look better, but to NBC/Universal and/or RDM and/or the writers, the 1 and 2 was preferred. What gives you, or anyone for that matter, the right to change the title. For example, the book/movie The Color Purple. If this title were listed on a British site, one might be tempted to change the title to The Colour Purple. But that would be effectively changing the title of the book. Yes, it would be the British spelling, but the book/movie isn't British.
| |
|
| |
| ::I would hope that the owners of this Wiki would also want to provide the facts and only the facts. Vidiot 14:46, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
|
| |
| :::We aren't changing the title. We are talking about the way a number is written, for Pete's sake! It doesn't make a difference whether we use roman or arabic numerals. The title is still effectively the same. --Serenity 15:39, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :::If you insist, we can make Exodus, Pt 1, Exodus, Pt 2, etc. redirect to the appropriate page. As for the production numbers, we can change the text "Production number:" to "Sequence number:", and we'd be fine, wouldn't we? BTW, would you happen to know what the "T27" part means?--Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:45, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
| ::::We already have "Episode number" at the top of the template. "Sequence number" is kinda redundant then. I didn't realize the main problem earlier, and Vidiot does have a point in this case. But then, I'm for deleting it altogether. Even noting the real production numbers used behind the scenes isn't that useful IMO. --Serenity 15:52, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :::::Not really, no. I say we throw out the production number as it's redundant anyway. Maybe call a vote on the template's talk page?--Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:03, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :::The extremely minor Roman vs. Arabic numerals issue aside (an issue easily rectified by redirects), the production number thing concerns me. A question that no one has sought fit to ask is what is/are the source(s) of these numbers?
| |
| :::Also, speaking of the Arabic vs. Roman numeral argument provided here, I've taken the liberty to refer to David Bassom's official companions for both Season 1 and Season 2. In the books, roman numerals are used in the episode titles. (i.e. "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I" is written as "Lay Down Your Burdens, Part I"). -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 16:22, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
| |
| :::The reason the production numbers are like this, is because it works in conjunction with the SciFi site when we link to the official summaries. The production numbers you give are cast/crew sheets and are "expanded" based on script readings. As for the name I do agree we have a little inconsistency, for the miniseries we have Miniseries, Night 1 and Miniseries, Night 2 but for the episodes them selfs we have roman numerals. Right now since, the avg. user has zero access to the script cast/crew calling sheets on the web (i.e. special access to IMDB Pro). I rather have everything "consistent" to what the avg. person sees. Yes we have Crew/Cast visiting this wiki (I talk with them all the time), but I am sure they don't care. Plus the universal language in this world is mathematics and keep roman numberlers is better imo. | |
|
| |
| OK, here goes. My responses to all of the above new stuff will be done here.
| |
|
| |
| As to the titles from the 1st and 2nd seasons, as listed in the two books, I have no clue what the author was using as a source and if he did change it to romans from the official paperwork. I do not have access to anything to say otherwise. Only this season do I have access to information that does provide some path to the official source. It is entirely possible that the department that put the tapes together type "Part 1" instead of "Part I". It is the only official documentation that I currently have. I suppose one could always ask RDM, since he obviously has access to official doumentation.
| |
|
| |
| That same information is the source of the the production numbers, which is:
| |
|
| |
| The 2nd image of each group is from the tape slate of the tape that was fed. I'd have to pull the DVD-ROMs of the previous episodes to show the pattern.
| |
|
| |
| Early on, GDMX fed both Canada and Comcast. After the break, the Comcast feeds were no more. I believe that the T27nn numbers are an internal number for the Comcast edits (which contained promos for NBC programming). The satellite feed slates were never modified to contain the NBC/Universal official show production number until recently.
| |
|
| |
| As to Shane's comment (which I just now saw), call sheets might not necessarily have the NBC/Universal production number on them. The ones for Paramount Star Trek shows did (the ones from ST:TNG onward). They might only have the episode number, which is one less than the sequence number ('Exodus' being 303A and 303B). I do not know NBC/Universal's format without seeing a copy of a callsheet.
| |
|
| |
| The Wiki is supposed to contain facts. A production number listing is supposed to be just that, the official production number assigned by the studio. Putting up a sequence number and calling it a production number is inaccurate. If you are still not sure that what I have provided is correct, I say that the production number listing be removed until paperwork can be obtained from NBC/Universal.
| |
|
| |
| I just looked at Sci-Fi's web site and they have 'CROSSROADS - PT 2', i.e., arabic, not roman. Six of one, half dozen of the other. Vidiot 17:28, 25 March 2007 (CDT)
