On the last day of the First Cylon War, the colony Tauron was besieged by the Cylons who had apparent ground, air and space superiority.

With at least three basestars in orbit, the Cylons sent ground forces and Raider's are deployed on the planet's surface. Colonial military ground forces engage in urban warfare with Centurion Model 0005s amidst bombed out buildings, trapping civilians (such as Helena Cain's family) in the crossfire.

During this midst of taking Tauron, the Cylons withdraw as they have signed an armistice. With their apparent superiority, it is likely that they would have taken Tauron had this event not occurred ("Razor", extended version).
