John Heard (born 3 March 1945 in Washington, D.C.) was an American actor and producer.
Heard's career has lent itself to many television and theatrical portrayals, including roles in the movies Big, Gladiator, The Pelican Brief, and Steel City (which he also produced).
Heard's television credits (many of which are roles in made-for-TV movies) include recurring and regular roles in popular shows as The Sopranos, Jack and Bobby, and Prison Break.
Heard played Barry Garner the chief engineer-turned-commander of battlestar Pegasus in the Re-imagined Series episode, "The Captain's Hand".
