Domia is a habitable planet located in an uncharted binary star system that is briefly chosen by the Council of the Twelve to be the new home for the human race ((Comics: Hades Hath No Fury)).[1] Its name, given by Colonial navigators, means "Home" in the Kobolian language ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[2]
Overview
edit sourceDomia is one of two habitable planets in its system, with possible tylium despoits. It has a tropical climate, created by its two suns, which results in a dense, lush jungle covering most of its surface.[3] The planet is notable for its mysterious, ancient rock formations, which are later discovered to be the source of the hostile unnamed Domia creatures ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[4]
Colonization
edit sourceAgainst the strong objections of Commander Adama, the Council of the Twelve votes to end their search for Earth and colonize Domia ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[5] A landing party led by Apollo establishes a temporary settlement, including military barracks and civilian housing ((Comics: Hades Hath No Fury)).[6]
Shortly after the Council arrives for a dedication ceremony, the settlement is attacked by the non-corporeal Domia creatures, who emerge from the nearby rock formations. The creatures prove impervious to laser fire. The attack is only halted when Sire Obob, acting on a theory from Starbuck, destroys the rock formations with a shuttle's weapons. The resulting explosion devastates the settlement and forces the Colonials to abandon the planet ((Comics: Fire in the Sky)).[7]

The Domia system[1] is an uncharted binary star system discovered by the Fleet during their journey ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[2]
The system is relatively small, consisting of two suns and fifteen planets. Long-range scans by Galactica indicate that at least two of the planets are habitable and that the system is rich in tylium deposits ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[2] The binary stars generate a significant amount of solar interference, making reliable long-range scans of the system's outer perimeter difficult ((Comics: Hades Hath No Fury)).[3]
Events
edit sourceUpon its discovery, the Council of the Twelve votes to halt the Fleet's journey and establish a permanent colony on one of the habitable planets, which they name Domia. This decision is made against the strong objections of Commander Adama, who fears the Cylons will eventually find them ((Comics: No Place Like Home)).[4]
The attempt to colonize Domia ends in disaster when the settlement is attacked by the native Domia creatures, forcing the Colonials to abandon the planet and the system ((Comics: Fire in the Sky)).[5]

The creatures manifest from ancient, mysterious rock formations found on the planet's surface. They are large, monstrous beings with sharp teeth and claws ((Comics: Hades Hath No Fury)).[2] They appear to be impervious to laser fire and can phase in and out of the rock structures, making them incredibly difficult to fight ((Comics: Fire in the Sky)).[3]
They attack the Colonial settlement shortly after the Council of the Twelve arrives for a ceremony. The attack is only stopped when Starbuck deduces that the creatures are tied to the rock formations. Acting on this, Sire Obob fires a shuttle's weapons at the alien structures, causing a massive explosion that seemingly disperses the creatures but destroying the Colonial encampment in the process ((Comics: Fire in the Sky)).[4]
