Battle near Planet Starbuck Skirmish on Planet Starbuck End of Series

Following the Battle near Planet Starbuck, the lone surviving pilots of their respective ship crashes forge an uneasy alliance to survive on the planet Starbuck names after himself. The ill-timed rescue attempt by a seemingly lone Cylon Raider contingent culminates into a skirmish that reduces the known population back to one entity, or so it would seem.

As Starbuck goes about his day, a trio of Cylons from a landed Raider come across the lone Warrior and, upon seeing him, open fire near the encampment.

They are unaware that one of their number has survived the crashed Raider they have come to search for: Cyrus a.k.a. "Cy."

Cy admits to having repaired its laser pistol and tells Starbuck to wait behind a nearby rock formation. Cy goes to meet the trio of Centurions, identifying itself and instructs them to lower their weapons. They ask where the human went off to.

Cy replies, "I extend my weapon that I may perform the following function." Cy guns down two of the approaching Cylons, but the third gets off a crippling shot before Starbuck drops it, and Cy sinks to the ground, mortally damaged.

Starbuck is seemingly left alone on his self-named eponymous planet, unaware that Angela has overseen the events play out and has judged this "mortal to be good." Starbuck is unaware of her true nature.

  • A script treatment for a subsequent episode entitled "Wheel of Fire" would have revealed that Starbuck ascended to the ranks of the Beings of Light.
  • There is the unattended matter of the Raider that the Cylon rescue party arrived upon, and whether Starbuck is able to make it function, even if Raiders require two pilots to operate.
