Jeff K. Brunello is an American sound designer and sound effects editor with over two decades of experience in film and television production.[external 1] He served as sound effects editor on the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries, contributing to the production's Emmy-nominated sound design.[production 1]

Brunello began his professional career in feature films before transitioning to television work.[external 1] His early feature work included the cult science fiction film Donnie Darko (2001), directed by Richard Kelly.[external 2]

In 2003, Brunello worked as sound effects editor on the Battlestar Galactica Miniseries, part of a sound team that received multiple honors for the production.[external 2] The miniseries sound department received a 2004 Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special, shared with Jack Levy, Daniel Colman, Frank Nolan, Vince Balunas, Chris Boyett, Jordan Corngold, Doug Madick, and Michael Lyle.[production 1] The same team won a 2004 OFTA Television Award for Best Sound in a Motion Picture or Miniseries.[production 2]

Brunello's most extensive television credit is the Syfy series Eureka, where he served as sound designer, sound effects editor, and supervising sound editor across 72 episodes from 2006 to 2012.[external 3] His work on the PBS American Experience documentary "Two Days in October" earned a 2006 Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming.[production 3] The documentary received a 2005 Peabody Award and the 2006 Primetime Emmy for Exceptional Merit in Non-Fiction Filmmaking.[production 4]

Recent television credits include sound designer and sound effects editor on A Man on the Inside (2024), sound designer on Hysteria! (2024), and sound effects editor and sound designer on the HBO limited series White House Plumbers (2023).[external 4] He has also sound supervised several television series, directing actors in ADR and working with mixers and producers in final mix sessions.[external 1]
