Stu Nomion was an accomplished composer whose famous works include music that would become the Colonial Anthem and Nomion's 3rd Sonata.
Composer Dreilide Thrace played Nomion's 3rd Sonata during his live concert at the Helice Opera House (TRS: "Someone to Watch Over Me").
Coker Fasjovik plays what is presumably another piece of well-known classical music by Nomion on piano while at an abandoned ski lodge on Djerba (TRS: "Blood and Chrome").
The composition he performs was likely taught to him as a child and represents a moment of tenderness in his character. Bear McCreary composed the complete piece, entitled "Coker's Interlude," which appears in full on the Blood & Chrome soundtrack album.[1]
- According to Bear McCreary, Stu Nomion is the in-universe representation of Stu Phillips, the original Battlestar Galactica series composer[2]. Stu Phillips is a television and film music composer. He is best known for composing the theme songs to many popular television shows of the 1970s and 1980s, including Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, Quincy, and The Hardy Boys Mysteries.
