The Daily News is a newspaper publication on Earth circa 1980 CE.
Jamie Hamilton buys an issue of this publication at the entrance to Maggies Truck Heaven, which has a cover story on the so-called attempted kidnapping of Dr. Donald Mortinson.
Later, a sheriff buys a copy of this newspaper in front of the same diner, and identifies Troy and Dillon based on the photos. This spurs a pursuit of the two, who are riding their turbines (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part III").
A clipping from the aforementioned article is included in a file Colonel Jack Sydell reviews on Troy and Dillon before heading to Casey's Baseball Park (1980: "Spaceball").
