IMDb profile

Kevin Smith (born August 2, 1970) is an American director, writer and actor, best known for his View Askewniverse movies, including Clerks., Dogma, and, most recently, Clerks II.

Born in Red Bank, New Jersey, Smith was considered by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick to direct an episode of the Re-imagined Series's fourth season. After a second conversation with Eick, Smith and Eick both believed that he would be directing for the series[1]; Smith went as so far as to confirm this fact to AOL during his interview.[2] However, due to a series of mis-communications between Eick and Moore, they found themselves in a double-booking situation, booking John Dahl to direct Smith's episode, when it initially appeared that Smith would be unavailable due to his commitments to Heroes: Origins. Eick himself went so far as to allow Smith to publish a letter on Smith's personal blog describing what had transpired.[1]
