I '''''think''''' I nailed the Combat Vest. I stuck my SWAT -trained friends onto it, and they came back with these models, given their telltale snap-&-velcro attachment system. It's more than likely that the costume department dealt with the manufacturer to get un-armored versions on the cheap. The goggles, too, are quite inexpensive. | I '''''think''''' I nailed the Combat Vest. Known Marines
Sgt Fischer should be added to the list. He first appears in the season premiere of Season 2 and is the Sergeant of the Guard who orders two marines to haul Boomer away after shooting Adama. In the credits of Final Cut he is refered to as 'Marine Sgt. Fischer'.
I'm going to go ahead and add the names of the black-suited soldiers from 'Scattered' and 'Valley of Darkness'. Ltcrashdown December 23, 2005
Added "Corporal" link to "Venner" name. Lordmutt - 10 February, 2006
Ahem why did someone add the Marines from Rising Star as dead? it's conjecture that they're dead as the episode hasn't aired yet..

Marine Weapons
What about the Beretta CX4 Storm carbine? I think the Marine that stopped Roslin (then let her go) when she was escaping had one. It's interesting that they took the trouble to apparently fabricate those strange wooden-handled pistols, but used existing submachine guns. --Steelviper 17:42, 20 January 2006 (EST)
- And I must say, and excellent recent edit, Spencerian. --Ricimer 18:45, 20 January 2006 (EST)
Thanks for changing the Five-seveN to a sidearm, I forgot. To answer your question, the CMC used them in Valley of Darkness. --Talos 17:23, 25 January 2006 (EST)
In Lay Down Your Burden Part two, the marines on Caprica were using a H&K G36c, the Protecta shotgun, that's the one with the drum mag that sharon valerri used in Home part one, and Anders was using a H&K UMP. Did i get it right?
- Most of the Marines are still carrying Cx4s but Starbuck carries a G-36K. The C model has a flat Picatinny rail instead of the integrated scope like the gun Thrace uses. G-36. Anders still has his UMP which he's had from the beginning. Helo carries a Protecta and I swear I saw a Neostead being carried by a resistance member. The gun Sharon carries in Home may look like a shotgun (don't have a pic right now) but it definately shot like a grenade launcher. --Talos 10:47, 13 March 2006 (CST)
- I believe (well, assumed) the Protecta was just being used as a stand-in for a grenade launcher. Has one ever fired shot on the show? --CalculatinAvatar 02:42, 14 March 2006 (CST)
- That's what I figured. Do you mean shot as a shotgun or as a grenade launcher. --Talos 08:45, 14 March 2006 (CST)
- I believe it was fired as a grenade launcher back in Home. I don't recall it ever being fired as a shotgun. --Steelviper 08:47, 14 March 2006 (CST)
- You're right about the Home shot, I just couldn't think of it being fired as a shotgun. --Talos 10:24, 14 March 2006 (CST)
- I meant fired shot, as in the small metal objects propelled from a shotgun (or a cannon or whatever). Upon reflection, I guess it looks like I typoed "fired a shot." --CalculatinAvatar 00:20, 15 March 2006 (CST)

Marine Gear
I think I nailed the Combat Vest. I stuck my SWAT -trained friends onto it, and they came back with these models, given their telltale snap-&-velcro attachment system. It's more than likely that the costume department dealt with the manufacturer to get un-armored versions on the cheap. The goggles, too, are quite inexpensive.

- The costume lead for the show has had serious problems in sufficient materials to make the flight suit as well as the day officers uniform as they prefer to use exotic fabric types.
