The Commander Air Group (more commonly known as the CAG) is the most senior pilot aboard a Battlestar and is responsible for all "air" operations.
Battlestar Galactica
The current CAG of the Battlestar Galactica is Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace.
She followed Lee "Apollo" Adama, who has been promoted to Commander of Battlestar Pegasus. Apollo assumed the position as CAG following the death of Captain Jackson "Ripper" Spencer. Spencer was killed in the opening minutes of the Cylon Attack on the Twelve Colonies. ("Mini-Series")
