Other Additions
Looks good. We should add how contributors can report a news item, and how administrators may handle it in terms of where, if any usage of it on the wiki, to avoid the issue we had with the season 4 rumor from Sackhoff and Olmos, too. --Spencerian 10:11, 17 May 2007 (CDT)
- Agreed. Feel free to add in your additions as you see fit. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 10:17, 17 May 2007 (CDT)

"Credit"
"Otherwise, you are encouraged to submit the tip on your own, without mentioning the wiki or your association with it."
- Totally. Unless you're conducting "wiki-business" under the "wiki-name", feel free to leave us out of it. That's not to downplay the value/significance of running across a juicy tidbit of information, just that that's not part of our core mission. There's always plenty of work to do without having to put on Clark Kent glasses (or whatever it is that journalists do). --Steelviper 10:23, 17 May 2007 (CDT)
- I added a section that asks contributors to relay any bits through admins first. We as admins should be conditioned not to make a knee-jerk post, determining whether to relay it to a news partner, make a note on our news topics, both or neither. I expanded the section on submitting news tips, remembering the incident involving Merv and his messages on Sciffy with Mrs. Ron and the fallout there. --Spencerian 11:48, 17 May 2007 (CDT)

Representation
Currently, the representation section says that no one except Joe may represent BSWiki anywhere.
I once thanked the BtRL forums for including us in their links section, including a disclaimer in my post that said:
- Disclaimer: I do not own Battlestar Wiki. I am not even an administrator there. I am merely a sympathizer and contributor.
Perhaps I could've reworded this to something more like:
- Disclaimer: I am a contributor at Battlestar Wiki, nothing more. I do not represent the wiki in any way. All opinions voiced above are my opinions and mine only, and do not necessarily represent Battlestar Wiki's official standpoint.
Any thoughts? Maybe mention this in an official policy? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 05:02, 18 May 2007 (CDT)
- As long as there is a clearly worded disclaimer, I'm fine with that, unless someone has a reason for me not to be fine with it. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 09:05, 7 June 2007 (CDT)
