This article chronicles the props used in the series, including their known fate.

This does not include replicas produced by either fans or by an officially licensed manufacturer.

Eastern Alliance destroyer[edit]

The Eastern Alliance destroyer.

The sole Eastern Alliance destroyer miniature, first seen in "Greetings From Earth," was constructed by Pat McClung from Universal Hartland.

The model is made from resin, featuring detailed airbrushed coloring and markings, and some working lights. It measures 21 inches in length.

The model is auctioned off on August 1, 2005 by Profiles in History during their Hollywood Auction 21 event. The model, which came with a custom Lexan case, was expected to be auctioned off for $3,500 to $4,000 USD.[1]

Imperious Leader throne chair[edit]

The wood chair, colored grey (though said to be painted black), was apparently created for the "Saga of a Star World" pilot, and would be the place where the Imperious Leader sits. Baltar, portrayed by the late John Colicos, would also sit in the chair for the first half of the series.

The chair measures 41 inches in width and 40 inches in height. The chair, which is apparently scratched and scuffed, still survives, but is not in physically mint-condition.

The chair was auctioned off on August 1, 2005 by Profiles in History during their Hollywood Auction 21. The expected price for the prop was $1,000-1,500 USD.[1]

Muffit II costume[edit]

The Muffit costume as seen on screen.

The only known Muffit II costume known to exist is the functioning "hero" costume worn by Evolution, the chimpanzee that played Muffit. This version was created by John Dykstra and his team at Apogee during the production of "Saga of a Star World".

The costume itself consists of servos to animate both the spinning ears and to move the mouth, controlled by a wireless remote control to animate these functions. The tail itself is a high-gauge spring, which bounces as Evolution moved.

When performing long takes that did not require movement, the production crew would place a custom articulated form inside the suit.

The costume, which was said to be "one of the finest surviving props" from the Original Series, was auctioned off on August 1, 2005 by Profiles in History during their Hollywood Auction 21 event. The expected price for the costume was $15,000-20,000 USD.[2]

Warrior hero helmet[edit]

At least one Warrior hero helmet survives. The hero helmet is the powered helmet, which is used in Viper cockpit scenes from the Original Series, and is not the dummy version carried around by the actors (or seen on the racks in the Bachelor officer's quarters).

The piece, which is said to have been worn by Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict and Robyn Douglass (of Galactica 1980) is made from resin, injection-molded plastic and foam padding. LEDs lined the chin guard and forehead, and were powered by an external power source, as evidenced by the wires hanging out from the back.

Allegedly, the auctioned version was painted with the original beige and brown colors, only to have been painted white for Douglass' character in 1980.

The helmet was auctioned off on August 1, 2005 during the Hollywood Auction 21 event. The expected price for the prop was $2,500-3,000 USD.[1]
