<div style="clear:both;"></div>
One of the tags I use most. Wouldn't it be useful to have it in the edittools box? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:01, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- Sure. It's now added. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 12:32, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- Thanks. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:35, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- Woo! I could never remember how to use that one, and always had to copypaste it from somewhere. --Serenity 12:37, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- At least you know what it does. Most of the people around here probably don't know. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 12:42, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- Hell, I was wondering where this template was so I could add this break tool. I've called it a "Day" break, named after one of our old admins who showed me how useful it would be in the CIC article two years ago now. A version of it is there. What about the shorter and just as effective <br clear="all">? Any differences? --Spencerian 12:52, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- <div style="clear:both;"></div> is the more "correct" syntax to use i believe, wouldn't it be easier as a template? {{break}} or something? --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 13:41, 21 May 2007 (CDT)
- Actually, neither is "more correct" AFAIK. The difference is that <br clear="all"/> adds an extra newline, whereas <div style="clear:both;"></div> doesn't. Except when the tag is followed by a blank line (very common), in which case it doesn't matter. The bottom line is that it doesn't matter very much, but the div variant is just more commonly used. BTW, is it possible to include clear: both; (or at least clear: right;) in the CSS definition for a section header? That'd save us a lot of trouble typing <div style="clear:both;"></div> or even {{break}}. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 13:47, 21 May 2007 (CDT)

New design
Cool! This'll definitely help navigating through edittools; it used to be a nightmare finding a character. Where did you get this JS stuff? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 13:09, 26 January 2008 (CST)
