{{User|Steelviper}} – Steelviper has stepped up to the plate not only for the RDM pages but has essentially taken Top Dog as ''de facto'' leader for fortifying the TOS articles. In the past a random page for a TOS article would show little content or many, many broken links. Thanks to his leadership and (credits to all other contributors for these articles) edits, the TOS pages at random improve more and more. Steelviper has the moxie for keeping the wiki rolling along and improving. | {{User|Steelviper}} – Steelviper has stepped up to the plate not only for the RDM pages but has essentially taken Top Dog as ''de facto'' leader for fortifying the TOS articles. - Candidate, please indicate acceptance of the nomination here:I accept. --Steelviper 12:22, 27 December 2005 (EST)
Support
- I have to agree. Steelviper has taken up and run with a cause few of us found appealing enough to touch. He's shown diligence as well as a willingness to calmly and intelligently discuss differing viewpoints. Kudos Viper. I hope you make it. --Watcher 18:49, 27 December 2005 (EST)
- Support. --Peter Farago 18:58, 27 December 2005 (EST)
Oppose
Neutral
- Imagine that this is the most positive definition of "neutral" possible. The only thing that keeps me from not voting in support of Steelviper is that I feel I don't know him well. He seems to know what he's doing and if he's caught any talk pages on fire, I haven't heard of it. I also think my not knowing him is mostly my own fault. If others agree he should be Admin, I would be just as happy with that decision than if it were to wait a bit first. --Day
- I feel pretty much what Day says: I have known Steelviper for too short a time here to get a feel for his views; later as the season pics up again this will probably have all worked out by that point. --Ricimer 23:29, 28 December 2005 (EST)
Comments
- When I came here, I was just looking for Battlestar Galactica (RDM) information. I was not a fan of the original series. However, as I began to feel more comfortable editing content I saw the original series as being an area where I could make a difference. I've learned a lot about the original series in the process, and a lot about creating and editing articles.
- One outstanding reservation regarding my nomination might be that I have been a member/contributor at this wiki for a shorter time than some of the other candidates. There's not much I can do about that, other than to point out my edit history. If there's not enough history there, then maybe you'll cast a support next time. --Steelviper 12:22, 27 December 2005 (EST)
Questions for the candidate
A few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:
- 1. What duties, if any, would you anticipate helping with? Please check out Category:Project Pages for a list of projects.
- A. A lot of what I have been working on lately has been the Original Series Article Development Project. I plan on obtaining the original series on DVD, in order to be able to help contribute more images to the TOS articles. I imagine there would also be some duties in the maintenance/cleanup department, and I'd be happy to chip in with a mop bucket.
- 2. Of your articles or contributions here, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
- A. I'm particularly pleased with the Battle of Cimtar. While I didn't provide any of the actual content, I helped merge in content from the Cylon Attack page, as well as Ricimer's battle template. I think the page looks a lot sharper now, and in the future I'd like to see other TOS battles moved to that format. In general I guess I'm happy with the progress on the Wanted Pages. Working that list has helped the TOS pages to be a lot more connected, and feel a lot more complete.
- 3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
- A. Generally any problems I've had have stemmed from my habit of trying to apply patterns universally. I've never had any problems with other contributors that have not been able to be resolved through reasoned discussion, and I don't see any reason why that is likely to change.
