Fields and Design[edit]

Before we even create a template per say, lets talk about what fields we might want. Shane (T - C - E) 05:50, 19 April 2007 (CDT)

Link to episode page, link to podcast download/stream, names of people speaking, date the podcast was released (if we have it), transcribed by, verified by, verified completed date, length. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 06:30, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
If you want to have comedy options, have "whisky" and "smokes" fields to name the brands used (Season 3 only I think). Somewhat more seriously maybe a Y/N field for Mrs. Ron's presence. But that can be covered with the speakers in general. There are some with Mr. Eick and Thompson/Weddel after all. --Serenity 11:10, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Y/N for Mrs Ron would be good, saves some typing (she's been attending a majority of the S3 podcasts, if I remember correctly). I also like the scotch & smokes addition. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 11:15, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Sounds good to me...we're an encyclopedia. The scotch and smokes tally should bring a smile to some, too. --Spencerian 11:21, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Are there podcasts where Ron is not present and its other cast/crew? --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 11:53, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Not that I'm aware of. The podcasts are really a Ron thing. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:02, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Wasn't there that Tahmoh Penikett and Grace Park podcast? -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate 17:16, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
I haven't really listened to that monster yet, but I think the crew podcast was hosted by Ron and Mrs. Ron too. --Serenity 17:20, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
One idea I just had, we have a field for each of the people involved... rdm, mrsron, etc. and when we say Y it shows an image and their name. Gives it a friendly "face". Shane (T - C - E) 17:19, 19 April 2007 (CDT)
Implemented, plus some more stuff (see the template itself). I've also added a number-based sortkey that actually works (i.e. sorts 1, 2, 3 rather than 1, 10, 11, ... 2, 3) using {{padleft:}}. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 10:54, 27 September 2007 (CDT)

Comedy elements[edit]

What did whoever created it have in mind for the Comedy elements section of this template? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 15:47, 27 September 2007 (CDT)

Maybe a field for "Ron Moore's word of the week"? ;) --Serenity 16:00, 27 September 2007 (CDT)--Serenity 16:00, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
Nice one, didn't think of that. I also added the smokes and the scotch. More suggestions are, of course welcome. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:07, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
The WOTW for Podcast:The Battlestar Roundtable has to be verisimilitude, btw. --Serenity 16:09, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
^^ I've got an English oral exam next week, I wonder if my teachers know that one (hey, my last one didn't know quotidian :D). --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:22, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
One of my favorite words is serendipity, which incidentally is used in Podcast:The Son Also Rises :) That article's talk page also mentions harridan for Podcast:A Day in the Life. But anyone who played Unreal Tournament knows "stalwart". :p --Serenity 16:31, 27 September 2007 (CDT)
Serendipity is nice, but not as obscure because of the movie. And I must've missed stalwart in UT, as I have played it (although that was years ago). --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:46, 27 September 2007 (CDT)

Would it be possible for the "comedy elements" header to be displayed only when one of the fields "smokes", "scotch" or "wordoftheweek" is actually specified? --Serenity 07:49, 28 September 2007 (CDT)

Done. --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 08:01, 28 September 2007 (CDT)

Production-readiness[edit]

Do you guys think this template is ready to be used for every podcast transcript? --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 08:39, 27 November 2007 (CST)

Since no one complaint about the testing, I think so. *cue complaints* --Serenity 08:41, 27 November 2007 (CST)
I didn't realize it was in beta. Looked finished to me... just wondered why it wasn't on all of them. Looks good. --Steelviper 13:08, 27 November 2007 (CST)
Nice job team. :) Ready here. :) Shane (T - C - E) 19:28, 27 November 2007 (CST)
