Walt Griffin is the father of Willie Griffin, the young boy who discovers Dillon and Troy's Vipers in a field, after their invisibility field loses power.

Griffin is skeptical of his son's claims made over dinner, however he later investigates the field where his son claims to have seen them. After a while searching in the field during nightfall with flashlights, Griffin threatens to discipline Willie for making up stories, until he sees the ships himself and subsequently notifies the local authorities. After bringing the sheriff out to the field at night, he apologizes for not believing Willie, despite the fact that the Vipers left the meadow just as they arrived with a police officer (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II").

When the Vipers later reappear in the meadow, Walt instead calls the United States Air Force, which removes the ships from the field to the Van Nuys A.N.G. Base. Both are told by an Air Force Colonel to keep the existence of the craft secret (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part III").

Willy Griffin is a young boy on Earth who discovers Troy and Dillon's Vipers while playing with his dog, Skipper (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part I").

Griffin runs back and reports the sighting to his parents just as dinner is being served, but is dismissed as another of the child's tall tales out of fear that his impressionable sister may believe it out of hand. In return for cleaning up the dirt he tracked in, Griffin and his father venture into the field later that night, where this tale is confirmed. Upon bringing a local sheriff out to the field to confirm the sighting, they just miss the Vipers launching, in response to the crisis condition alert issued by Commander Adama (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II").

Vindication[edit source]

After initially being ridiculed by other children led by his bully Tucker, Griffin rediscovers the ships in the field following Troy and Dillon's return from their adventures in Earth's past. Griffin also discovers a third Viper belonging to the Colonials' adversary, Xaviar.

The ships are being hauled away by the United States Air Force when Troy and Dillon return from dropping off Jamie Hamilton. While Griffin was told by an Air Force Colonel where they were going, he was told to keep it secret; Troy and Dillon operate on the belief that Griffin is aware and follow him to his school. Ultimately, they convince Griffin to disclose information on the whereabouts of their ships in exchange for a loan of one of their wrist computrons. Griffin soon uses the wrist computron to get revenge on Tucker, a local bully, by using the invisibility field to embarrass him. After returning the wrist computron, he informs the Warriors of the Vipers' location (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part III").

Willie's mother sits at the dinner table, displeased with Willie's not-so-make-believe story.

Willie's mother is seen as Willie bursts into the house in the typical place for Earthling women: the kitchen. In a manner typical of house-bound women of 1980s Earth, she admonishes Willie for dragging dirt through her house. Later, she prissily tells Walt Griffin, her husband, to put a stop in Willie's "made up" story about the two space ships he sees in the field (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II").

Willie's mother was portrayed by Nancy Priddy in an uncredited role. Priddy was identified with the assistance of computer-aided facial recognition.

References[edit source]

Willie's sister has her interest piqued by Willie's story about the spaceships.

Willie's sister is seen sitting at the dinner table in the Griffin's kitchen as Willie Griffin storms in, trying to tell them of the two Vipers he comes across. She asks about the ships, but her mother interrupts, telling her husband to stop Willie out of fear of her apparent gullibility (1980: "Galactica Discovers Earth, Part II").

Willie's sister is uncredited and presently unidentified.
