Did Spinner Survive "The Hand of God"?

Based on the transcript of wireless chatter posted on Talk:Fireball, it seems obvious that Spinner bought the farm in that episode, regardless of what may or may not have befallen Fireball himself. It's now clear to me that the "CAG Roster" that Sci-Fi offered during the first season can not be considered a cononical source. Thus, I see no problem in mentioning Spinner's death in combat here, unless it is explicitly contradicted in a later episode. --Peter Farago 23:07, 3 February 2006 (EST)

Well I figured since one pilot from Strike Force One bought it and three from Strike Force Two bought it, it was likely that Spinner survived. The subtitles just make it look like he was the one saying 'No Joy' right before exploding, but after watching the Scar subtitles, it looked like Duck was attacking the Cylons and got himself killed when it was really BB. I thought it was Spinner because his name was referenced as the speaker, but the same thing was done with Duck accidentally being substituted for BB, so Spinner wasn't the one who died. You're not being confusing, but I think I have to see the episode to reply properly. However, I just want to note that the only basis for the casualty count in The Hand of God was information from SciFi.com, and that on-screen evidence always takes precedence over promotional materials. --Peter Farago 23:15, 3 February 2006 (EST)

Well then, we only actually see one pilot from Strike Force One die and three possible deaths from Strike Force Two. I figured the one SF1 death would be either Spinner or Fireball. Scar just confirms it. --Ltcrashdown 23:18, 3 February 2006 (EST)

As I understood the transcript you posted to Talk:Fireball, there remains every implication that Spinner died, and there's no reason that the total casualty count in that episode couldn't have been greater than the number reported on SciFi.com. Yes, during the scene when BB dies the subtitles indicate that it is Duck talking about engaging the Raiders, when Duck is actually still returning to Galactica. The same can be said for Hand of God, because the subtitles indicated that Spinner was the one screaming before the Viper blew up, when it was more likely that Fireball died (as anyone not paying attention to the subtitles would agree). --Ltcrashdown 23:34, 3 February 2006 (EST)
