Purpose[edit]
I can see the point this page in theory, but we need to clearly define how to use this and what to put here. Saying this it is for ship types and not individual ships is already a step in that direction. For example we already have Unnamed battlestars, so listing them here too would be redundant.
There are some undefined designs in the civilian Fleet, but note that they already have own pages. Five-engined vessel, Wedge-shaped vessel, Tubed vessel, Yellow vessel and Long-necked vessel. Those should be at most listed here.
A clear candidate would be the ship above Pegasus in "Razor", but I already created a section at Scorpion Fleet Shipyards for this, as that is the likeliest place anyone would look for it. Of course we can detail it here and link from there to here. That depends on how much information there is about it. At the moment it not really enough to need its own article IMO (which would have a completely arbitrary name no one knows). See Talk:Fall of the Scorpion Fleet Shipyards#Berzerk Orthos for some more information, and a possible sourcing problem.
To be honest, the main benefit of this would be to have one place that lists all those ships for easy reference. But the information itself is already present elsewhere and doesn't need to be moved here. --Serenity 03:26, 14 December 2007 (CST)
- Well, the purpose isn't clearly laid out because it's negotiable. I didn't feel the need to go out all out and define the purpose of this page. If people didn't feel it necessary, then we can simply get rid of it. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 09:05, 14 December 2007 (CST)
- I'm cool with this summary page for the same reason that Caprican refugees and its child pages exist. We just don't want to be very repetitive in their descriptions on this page, but try to cite their commonalities or appearances as warranted. --Spencerian 11:51, 14 December 2007 (CST)
- These types of pages are very useful for the casual reader or new converts to BSG. Us experts can sometimes lose that perspective. --FrankieG 15:22, 14 December 2007 (CST)
