Sixth-millennium starfighters are obsolete spacecraft that the Proteus enforcers use to patrol and defend Proteus. Croad pilots such a craft, pursuing a sixth-millennium shuttle smuggling ambrosa (TOS: "The Long Patrol").

edit- Although apparently 1,000 yahrens older, the design of the sixth-millennium starfighter is extremely similar to that of the Colonial Viper. The sixth-millennium starfighter fuselage is much more squat and has two engines rather than three. It, like the Viper, is armed with a pair of laser cannons. [There's no indication they are a thousand yahrens older. The Sixth Millennium would ends in 6999, which is only 343 yahrens before 7342.]
