Cain is a legendary Commander in the Colonial Fleet, renowned for his brilliant military mind and his relentless pursuit of the Cylons. He is the commander of the battlestar Pegasus and the father of Sheba.[1]
Prior to the Battle of Molecay, he commands the Fifth Fleet, spearheading the war effort against the Cylons. His command is characterized by a relentless and single-minded drive to end the Thousand-Yahren War, sparing no expense or resource in this quest ((Comics: Daddy's Girl)).[1]
Sheba feels immense pressure as a cadet to live up to his reputation and prove that she is more than just "Daddy's Girl".[2] When he learns his daughter is in danger after faking launch codes for an unauthorized mission, he personally leads the rescue mission to save her.[3] He finds Sheba in a cave just after she has fought off several creatures and comforts her, telling her that everything is fine now that he has arrived ((Comics: Daddy's Girl)).[4]
Cain and the battlestar Pegasus were thought to have been lost for many yahrens, but resurfaced to save Galactica and her Fleet from a Cylon ambush before disappearing once again into the vastness of space ((Comics: 1999 Tourbook)).[5]
