Richard Dawkins takes on a jerk
Hey man. You must be a bit stressed with all this style updating and reformatting, so I thought I could help you relax. Check this out. Here we have Richard Dawkins take on an evangelical "Christian" who turns into a jerk really fast. I think Dawkins won the argument too, though it's rather grey. Now, I have to agree with you. Richard Dawkins is the MAN when it comes to science, and I'm glad you idolized him. I respect him quite a bit myself, and I appreciate his scientific commentary. Happy viewing! --Homeworld 15:31, 26 August 2006 (CDT)
- Thats a clip taken from a TV program he did called The Root of All Evil? ^_^ Its not been repeated in the UK as far as I know but you could probably download it from somewhere, it was a great program. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 15:48, 26 August 2006 (CDT)
- I'm interested to see the full program. That 6-minute clip piqued my interest. That site I got it from has bits and pieces from the show, and maybe the whole thing. I already watched another clip called "Teapot Atheists." Striking commentary. Dawkins says that everyone is an atheist since many no longer believe in the gods of Egypt or Rome or Sumer. By the way, I decided to read about James Randi (I already know about Gervais and Sagan). I must say, I respect anyone who can reveal that a "faith-healer" is a sham. I have no patience for people who sell their faith like that Popville guy did. Has the world no shame? I recently added an "Idols" section to my own userpage along with some video clips of them. Thanks for being the inspiration for that! ^_^ --Homeworld 16:09, 26 August 2006 (CDT)

Customising MediaWiki
How is it done?!? This is the only Wiki(that i'v seen) with compleetly diferent colors and styell can some one tell me how it is don(you can put it on my talk page)?JosephK19 01:50, 30 September 2006 (CDT)
- This wiki still has a theme in the usual wiki colours but a new desiend was created by some members of this wiki to give it a unique look and feel. The MediaWiki site has some great tips on how to do all this. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 05:19, 30 September 2006 (CDT)

CNP vs virus
Hey. I reverted an edit you made on Atlantia (RDM). Just to let you know, the Cylons used backdoor programming to essentially command the CNP to turn off or seriously disable itself, leading to their victory. Viruses are an old tactic of theirs from the Cylon War, and are used if they can hack into a Colonial ship's computer network (as done in Scattered and Flight of the Phoenix). But the Cylons didn't primarily win with viruses, just the CNP. The talk page there, I think, says it all. --Spencerian 10:27, 6 October 2006 (CDT)
My RFA
No Need to Apologize!
I don't mind if you edit my userpage, especially for something as important as a red link fix. In fact, I actually had a message up for a while encouraging other users to edit my page, but it disappeared in a series of events I cannot fully comprehend or remember. But, point is, I really don't care if my userpage gets edited. Edit some more is you like! :) --Homeworld 20:50, 18 October 2006 (CDT)

I actually only capitalised the "b" becuase the person before had capitalised "Battlestar Galactica", and I followed the example. Whups.

Block
Any insight into your recent preemptive block? I can't even access user IP's, so I wouldn't know where to start... --Steelviper 08:58, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- On another wiki I visit has a massive spam attack by this ip advertising comerical spam from wikipost.info. I searched for the url of the spam it was advertising and saw that it was crawling several other wikis posting large amounts of spam (2mb of text on each page). I felt that this preemptive block was neccesary on this occation. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:27, 10 January 2007 (CST)
- Gotcha! Hopefully that works. Since going to usernames I haven't tried an IP ban, but if they're consistent in the use of that IP your block should hold. Thanks for the info! --Steelviper 09:30, 10 January 2007 (CST)
Jennifer Joseph rollback
We're not really sure if that's girl warrior #2 or not, yet. Looking at Jennifer Joseph's imdb profile, it's going to be hard to figure out which girl she was. I'm actually thinking now that she may have been one of the girls in the pressure suit scene. I'll keep on it, though. --Steelviper 08:04, 18 January 2007 (CST)

Reverted edit
I reverted your edit in Battlestar Wiki:Podcast Transcripts. You added Podcast:Rapture to the list of completed transcripts, but since it hasn't even been partially transcribed, it obviously doesn't belong there. Just so you know. --Catrope 10:43, 24 January 2007 (CST)

HD Stuffness
You might want to use your HDBits account - theres a mass prune of inactive accounts, and you have to at least log in every so often and browse to avoid it. Also, invites and signups are disabled for the forseeable future - use wisely...theres plenty of 720p stuff there ;) --Fordsierra4x4 19:15, 29 January 2007 (CST)

Andy Seklir
Thanks for creating that article. He's mentioned somewhat frequently in the podcasts, and was one of those names I had to keep finding the IMDB link to. I was first going to warn you about editing a podcast act that I'm still "in-progress" on, but that's an edit I'd suffer an edit conflict for anyway. I went ahead and moved the old imdb links in other podcasts to point to the one you created. --Steelviper 10:49, 5 February 2007 (CST)
Category Cloud
Sorry about not setting up my contact email address on moonfire.us, I apparently forgot to finish that last little step before the site went live. Oops. :) It works properly now if you have more questions. I already created an entry for the extension on the MediaWiki site, you can find the extension at Extension:CategoryCloud. It should be fairly clear on how to use it, but the basic is you create a category that is a parent to all the categories you want in the cloud. Then, point to that using:
<category-cloud category="MyTopLevelCategory"></category-cloud>
And from there, everything should work magically. If you have any questions, feel free try contact@moonfire.us, my ISP says it is working properly now (that I set it up).
DylanMoonfire 09:40, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- Thanks i'll be able to play with this on the test wiki now --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 09:41, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- Sweet! That looks like it's exactly what Merc was hunting for. Merc: Maybe a separate cloud for RDM vs TOS? Or were you thinking of including ALL cats? --Steelviper 09:59, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- I'm going to play with it offline for a bit. Ive got a few modification I want to do to improve it. We might need to do a bit of work actually on the wiki to improve performance but this looks like the base of something I can really work on here :D --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 10:12, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- BAH! Released under GNU which means Im not allowed to modify the code. Might have to give the guy another buzz about that. --Mercifull (Talk/Contribs) 10:16, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- GPL just means you need to post your changes to the plugin if you make any. I just like to see what people do to my code and sometimes I roll it back in into the primary branch. If it is a problem, I can switch to MIT license, which I'm considering. -- DylanMoonfire 10:49, 6 February 2007 (CST)
- I personally don't see the problem here. If Mercifull decides to modify this thing and put it up on BSWiki, the GPL says he has to release his modified version under the GPL as well, meaning he has to publish the source code. Assuming Mercifull has no problem with that, he can just put it up at Extension:CategoryCloud and be done with it. Hell, he could even copy&paste the Extension:CategoryCloud page from MediaWiki. For more info on the GPL go here. (We're dealing with Freedom 3 here.) --Catrope 13:36, 6 February 2007 (CST)

What happened to 12 Colonies Culture?
Why'd they get rid of the "Culture" article for the 12 Colonies? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by FulltimeDefendent (talk • contribs).

- Unlike the Cylon Culture article it was felt that it offered no new content and just rehashed things that were already present in other articles. It was discussed on the talk page some time before deleting it --Serenity 06:37, 24 February 2007 (CST)
