Battle to destroy the Cylon Resurrection Ship in the hopes of causing the Cylons to rethink their plans for the Fleet.

With the knowledge and recon obtained by Doctor Gaius Baltar (through Gina) and Captain Kara Thrace respectively, Admiral Helena Cain and Commander William Adama now know that the Resurrection Ship is a safety net for the Cylon operatives that may be operating in the Fleet. With this safety net removed, the Cylons would have to reconsider any actions that are made against the Fleet, seeing as their consciousnesses would have nowhere to go after their bodies "die".

Thus the attack is formulated. A group of civilian ships would jump nearby in order to lure the Cylon Raiders away from the Cylon fleet. After this, Galactica and Pegasus would jump in and begin attacking the Cylon basestars. Meanwhile, Lieutenant Lee Adama would use the Blackbird to sneak up upon the Resurrection Ship and destroy her FTL drive with a missle. From there, Pegasus CAG Captain Kara Thrace would lead all the Vipers to destroy the Resurrection ship (Resurrection Ship, Part I).

The attack is successfully implemented with minimal losses on the Colonial side. The Blackbird stealth fighter is destroyed by a piece of debris from the Resurrection Ship as a result of Adama's attack. Lee Adama is successfully retrieved by Galactica's SAR Raptor and begins to recover from oxygen deprivation (as Adama's suit was punctured during the ejection process).

The resulting Cylon raiders, who were attempting to defend the Cylon fleet, retreated after this battle (Resurrection Ship, Part II).
