Cavett is a leading figure aboard the Daru Mozu. After Xeno Fenner is arrested, he continues to lead the strike aboard the refinery ship, for which he is arrested as well. In his cell, Cavett suffers from hallucinations and injures himself, apparently due to his traumatic experiences while imprisoned on New Caprica. When the Daru Mozu resumed production, Fenner and Cavett were released from the brig (Dirty Hands).
