The rank of Captain, in the Colonial forces, is senior to a Lieutenant but below a Major.

- Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, after her promotion by Admiral Helena Cain.
- Aaron Kelly, the landing signal officer and third-in-command of Galactica.

- Karl "Helo" Agathon, since his time as XO of Galactica during the occupation of New Caprica.
- Louanne "Kat" Katraine, from her time as CAG of Galactica (during the New Caprica occupation) until her death.
