Raptor 1 was the designation of the lead Raptor in a scout party dispatched to Kobol by Battlestar Galactica in the episode Kobol's Last Gleaming, Part I.

"Raptor 1" was also the designation of the lead Raptor of the SAR party deployed in Fragged, and another Raptor in "Home, Part II".

Incident[edit]

After entering Kobol's orbit, a phalanx of Cylon Raiders happened upon them suddenly. Raptor 3 was destroyed in orbit via collision with a Raider, Raptor 2 left via FTL to Galactica, and Raptor 1 was damaged as a result of the fracas - shot once, sending it into an uncontrolled counter-clockwise spin, and then a second time, breaching the crew cabin and killing the pilot, Karma.

Crashdown managed to ditch near an overgrown field, near ruins presumed to be from humanity pre-Colonization. During the crash, Socinus was badly burned, but the remaining six survived relatively unscathed. The survivors took cover in a nearby forest, but Tarn was gunned down by Cylon ground forces while retrieving a medical kit lost in the confusion. Socinus succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter, and was euthanized by Tyrol.

After burying the two, the remaining five observed Cylon Centurions constructing a DRADIS dish and missile battery to intercept Galactica's SAR party. Crashdown formulated a plan to take out the Cylon forces, but was killed by Baltar after drawing a gun on Cally when the plan went awry.

The SAR party managed to evade the Cylon missiles and rescue the four survivors.

Occupants[edit]

Raptor 1 was composed of eight crew persons.
