This noticeboard is a location to discuss and coordinate administrative tasks for the Battlestar Wiki.

It is our hope that this place can serve as a location for administrators to coordinate their efforts on the maintenance tasks of the Wiki (it's not ALL fun and games), as well as a spot for our contributors to be able to bring things to the attention of the admins if something needs to be done. Need a protected page edited? An article or picture deleted? Admins will watchlist this page so that your request won't get lost in the shuffle.

Senior chiefs are, in Wikipedia's terminology, bureaucrats who have the ability to make other users into chiefs. They also have the ability to check user and other advance functions not under the purview of the chiefs. Currently senior chiefs are:

Request For Article Deletion

Hello, I hope this is the correct page to ask for such things. I have done a lot of editing on the BSG: Deadlock articles and I have taken note that there was a duplicate article created (possibly my mistake) Please can I request that this (assault raptor) article be deleted? Improperly Archived Talk Pages

I'm seeing a lot of archived pages in the Talk namespace with "/Archive 1" appended to their names, where the corresponding unprefixed Talk page does not exist. It looks like someone mass-archived talk pages and neglected to create new talk pages or an archive index. I suggest that we move these pages back to their unprefixed titles, with a bot or mass edit tool if possible. --April Arcus (talk) 19:59, 12 April 2020 (PDT)

This was caused by the initial deployment of the StructuredDiscussions extension. It should've provided a link the "archive" from the main "talk" page, but it didn't deploy that. I'm seeing about a means to rectify that. -- Joe Beaudoin ^{So say we all - Donate} 14:17, 13 April 2020 (PDT)

-I was just thinking, it would be really cool if we had a special data box for each season, similar to the data boxes we have for each episode.  We can put in the number of episodes, the release data, dvd information, a season chronology for quick access to other seasons, and even things like SciFi Pulse links to teaser trailers.  We could have links to the [[List of Podcasts]] page with # signs for each season, as well as the season R&D skit pages, and if we're really ambitious we can create staff pages that list all the various staff for each season and link it there.  It could also be a way to bring the links to the episode guides (the list guide and the summary guide) to the top.  We could have a spot for promotional materials, such as the webisodes and minisodes, and of course, the trailers.

-:Sounds interesting! My first reaction was negative, as it sounded like the season templates at the bottom of the episode guides, but now I think I'm tracking with you. I don't think there'd be any harm in going ahead and mocking something up. People usually can provide more concrete critical feedback when there's something actually there for their tomatoes to hit. Do you want to take the lead on this one? I'd recommend taking the episode data template as a base (as far as copying and pasting for formatting purposes), and going from there. -:If it's only displayed on the respective season pages it's a very good idea. In general, it's a good idea to be careful with templates. Sometimes there are huge templates or up to 2 of them displayed below a character article. That's just clutter for little to no gain.
