Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!
Welcome to the Wiki, Iron-hands. Feel free to tell us about yourself on your user page. Before you get started on other edits, please read the Standards and Conventions, which details the policies we use in editing pages (this differs from many other wikis in its particular use of verb tense, abbreviations, formatting, and the like). If you need help in learning how to use the MediaWiki tools supported here, you can check out the tutorial and the wiki markup code pages for assistance.
Please read the articles "What is Battlestar Wiki" and "What Battlestar Wiki is Not." This important information details what contributions are acceptable in this encyclopedia.
We encourage you to participate in any projects on Battlestar Wiki, which work to enhance a particular subject or extension of the wiki. These include the Original Series Article Development Project and several language translations of Battlestar Wiki. If you have a new idea for a new project, visit the Think Tank, where we hash out large-scale ideas before implementing them.
Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on an article's talk page that's relevant to the subject, the Wikipedian Quorum or the Administrators' noticeboard. Remember to sign your posts on any talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)!
We look forward to your contributions to the community! --Spencerian 10:21, 18 March 2007 (CDT)
Recent rollback
Welcome to the wiki! Sorry to revert your very first contribution on the wiki, but the information you added to Humanoid Cylon is unsourced; there hasn't been any official information I can recall that supports a connection between Number Six and the zodiac. In fact, the use of "Number Six" as a name was described by Moore and Eick as a homage to the '60's TV show, The Prisoner. If you have an official source (aired episode, cast or crew quote) that supports your entry, let us know in the article and we can put it back. If it's a thought you came up with, check a look at our policy on "derived content", which allows contributor speculation based on official sources. This differs from what is called "fanwanking", which is fan-generated ideas of what things are about, but haven't something official to support them. Don't let my edit put you off from future edits, and enjoy the wiki! --Spencerian 10:30, 18 March 2007 (CDT)
I'd missed a prime sentence in my description, that being that the name she is given, caprica, capricorn, is the representation of pan, the god of sex/nature as well as the 6th in the grecko roman zodiac, but whatever
- OK. "Caprica-Six" was named after her mission on Caprica in Caprica City, she being instrumental in bombarding the Colonies. "Caprica" is a derivation of Capricorn, yes. The references to Pan are dubious, however, since that god's not been mentioned at all in the show -- yet. --Spencerian 14:42, 18 March 2007 (CDT)
