I can't remember if Lt. Gaeta said "THE Refinery Ship" or "A Refinery Ship" in "Resistance"; if he said "THE" it would imply that there is only one---Ricimer, 19 Aug, 2005

He says "The Aturian refining vessel has stopped refining tylium." My impression thus far is that there's only one, although there are certainly several mining ships. --April Arcus 05:35, 11 December 2005 (EST)

Actually, according to the subtitles for Resistance, Gaeta says the 'Tauranian' refining vessel has stopped refining tylium, meaning the ship is from Tauron. This means that the refining ship is currently unnamed but hails from Tauron. Then again for all I know, the ship might actually be called 'The Tauranian'. Either way, this means that there may be more refining ships, but there is only one that is from Tauron. This could be the ship that Boomer found in the mini-series. Ltcrashdown December 23, 2005

Interesting. This agrees with SciFi.com, and also implies that the Fleet posesses another refinery ship of non-Tauranian registry (otherwise, why specify?). I'm going to move this back to "Refinery Ship". --April Arcus 03:22, 25 December 2005 (EST)

On the other hand, Apollo notes the arrival of the Refinery Ship (clearly the first of it's kind to find the Fleet) immediately before the Cylon attack, so it seems impossible that another could have arrived before the fleet jumped to Ragnar. --April Arcus 19:02, 30 December 2005 (EST)

Note on other possible refinery ships:

I'd like to add something to the discussion about there being more than one refinery ships in the fleet. Shortly after Boomer returned with the refinery ship in her Raptor, the fleet was forced to jump to the same system as the Ragnar station. It's possible that more refinery ships later arrived in the Ragnar system after recieving Adama's Fleet Wide Communication. --Ltcrashdown 20:12, 1 January 2006 (EST)

Name of refinery ship given in mini-series novelization[edit]

It may interest some of you to know that in the novelization for the BG mini-series, the writer names the refinery ship that Boomer brings to the Fleet. It's actually referred to as 'The Tauranian', suggesting that my earlier comments about the refinery ship being of Tauron-registry and not actually being named the Tauranian could be wrong. With a name like that it could still be from Tauron, but now we can semi-confirm that it's actually named the Tauranian. If anyone agrees, then maybe this should be added to the Fleet list and given it's own page for future reference. --Ltcrashdown 00:00, 6 February 2006 (EST)

I suggest a footnote on "Refinery ship", where the unnamed refinery ship of Tauranian registry is currently described. We already know about Daru Mozu, and most of the evidence thus far seems to point to there being only one in the fleet. --April Arcus 01:44, 6 February 2006 (EST)

How Many?[edit]

Thus far we've seen the unnamed refinery ship in the "Miniseries", the unnamed ship referred to as "Tanker" in "Home, Part I", and a refinery ship named as Daru Mozu in "Epiphanies". All of these have been of identical design. We've also heard about a Tauranian refinery ship in "Resistance". There's no reason all of these couldn't have been the same ship, but not an enormous quantity of evidence that they are, either.

Dialogue evidence to date:
"The Hand of God"
Tigh: How are we gonna get our refinery ship—

"Resistance"
Gaeta: The Tauranian refining vessel has stepped refining tylium.

"Epiphanies"
Lee Adama: The Daru Mozu. A tylium refinery. Roslin: A member of your group nearly destroyed our tylium refinery.

None of these are conclusive, in my opinion. Not even the miniseries sheds light on whether the Tylium refinery (the last ship to arrive before the departure to Ragnar) was the first ship of its type to rendezvous with Roslin's fleet.

Summary: we don't really know how many refinery ships the Fleet has, or (if there are more than one) whether Daru Mozu is the Tauranian ship or not. We can conclude that the naming of a refinery ship as "the Tauranian" in the miniseries novelization was probably an error, however, based on that words use as a adjectival form of "Tauron" in other ship names, such as the Tauranian Traveler. --April Arcus 22:03, 23 March 2006 (CST)

In "Dirty Hands" they always say "the refinery ship", clearly meaning that there is only one. I therefor suggest that this be merged with Daru Mozu, redirecting "refinery ship" to the specific ship article. --Serenity 09:48, 26 February 2007 (CST)

Image Updates[edit]

Shane - this would be a good task for you - the pictures of the striker that i uploaded a couple of weeks back - you reckon you could replace these ones with them? I know at least one shot will be exact. --Fordsierra4x4 16:27, 23 June 2006 (CDT)

I checked all the "Stiker" images are already be used. --Shane (T - C - E) 16:36, 23 June 2006 (CDT)
