Too Much Baltar?
I feel that the article is based too much on the possibility that Baltar may be projecting rather than the actual Cylon ability. Though the show itself has not reveald too much, we do know quite a bit from podcasts and interviews, so I want to know if anyone else feels the "Gaius Baltar" section, although certainly important, is taking up too much space for what it should be. --Sauron18 17:10, 13 December 2006 (CST)
- I understand your point, with the sole dissent that, aside from the Cylons bringing it up in the first place, there appears, storywise, that a connection to Baltar was the only reason to mention it. Otherwise, this would be a bit of a "telephone" article (unnecessary article on ordinary ubiquitous object). It should be noted that, just because Baltar may project doesn't necessarily make him a Cylon. --Spencerian 18:23, 13 December 2006 (CST)
- Well....there are other things we can include, but they would use mostly interviews as sources, which I guess is technically alright since it's important canonical information. I did a rough version of a more Cylon-Centered version of the article, with info from the interviews included, I'm just going to show it to you to see what you think-
- Projection is a Cylon ability that allows them to "project" an artificial environment around themselves, which they can choose to share with other Cylons.
- Cylons use this ability as a way to detach themselves of reality, and experience the world around them as they wish to, rather than how it is, serving as a psychological comfort.
- Projection can also be used as a means to navigate the confusing hallways of a Basestar, and presumably other Cylon vessels as well, as hallways are uniform without discernible identification.
- So far, only one instance of projection has been observed, when Caprica Six projected a lush green forest. However, promotional photography and deleted scenes show Number Three projecting cathedral environments.
- The revelation of this ability to Gaius Baltar has made him suspect himself of being Cylon, for it is undeniably similar to what he has been experiencing with the virtual replica of Number Six which exists in his head, as well as various environments he has shared with her.(Torn)
- What do you think? Some of it is really based only on the interviews only, but edit as you wish, and tell me what we could fix or if we should simply leave it as it is. --Sauron18 20:21, 13 December 2006 (CST)
