Somnaians are energy-based life forms not-native to the Colonials' known universe.

Upon discovering a derelict mothership and her fleet, Commander Adama experiences induced visions from an alien who claims that the Somnians are a threat to not only the rag tag, fugitive fleet, but also to the entire known universe (^{(Comics: Prison of Souls, Part 1)}).
