Lt. Margaret "Racetrack" Edmondson is a Viper pilot aboard Battlestar Galactica. A young woman with some prior civilian flight experience, when Galactica suffered a pilot shortage after the Cylon attack, she was among a group of new recruit nugget pilots trained by Starbuck. A naturally gifted pilot, Kat quickly gained in experience, becoming one of the best Viper pilots in Galactica's air wing. Eventually, Kat came to rival even her own mentor, Starbuck herself, by the time that Galactica's Viper wing was engaged in a heavy war of attrition with Cylon Raiders while protecting an asteroid mining operation. In the end, it was Kat who killed the ace Cylon Raider Scar, when Starbuck realized that killing him herself on a suicide run wasn't worth it, and Kat earned the place as Galactica''s top gun.
