This noticeboard is a location to discuss and coordinate administrative tasks for the Battlestar Wiki.

It is our hope that this place can serve as a location for administrators to coordinate their efforts on the maintenance tasks of the Wiki (it's not ALL fun and games), as well as a spot for our contributors to be able to bring things to the attention of the admins if something needs to be done. Need a protected page edited? An article or picture deleted? Admins will watchlist this page so that your request won't get lost in the shuffle.

Request For Article Deletion

Hello, I hope this is the correct page to ask for such things. I have done a lot of editing on the BSG: Deadlock articles and I have taken note that there was a duplicate article created (possibly my mistake) Please can I request that this (assault raptor) article be deleted? Improperly Archived Talk Pages

I'm seeing a lot of archived pages in the Talk namespace with "/Archive 1" appended to their names, where the corresponding unprefixed Talk page does not exist. It looks like someone mass-archived talk pages and neglected to create new talk pages or an archive index. I suggest that we move these pages back to their unprefixed titles, with a bot or mass edit tool if possible. --April Arcus (talk) 19:59, 12 April 2020 (PDT)

This was caused by the initial deployment of the StructuredDiscussions extension. It should've provided a link the "archive" from the main "talk" page, but it didn't deploy that. I'm seeing about a means to rectify that. -- Joe Beaudoin ^{So say we all - Donate} 14:17, 13 April 2020 (PDT)

-Apologies in advance if this is not the right place to post my request for help. but I'm at my wits' end and utterly lost after navigating this site over and over. I am a frequent user of wikis, but truth is this is the first time a take a peek behind the curtain.
-I would like to "serve" as a translator for the Spanish site (I'm a bilingual philologist with time to spare) but I don't know the correct procedure as to where to submit my request to join the translation team. I have already translated some articles on some of the main characters that look fine when previewed, but I really don't know what the next step is.

We could ask wikia, but I think considering the lack of activity there we might just want to correct it ourselves. -I have recently come across a series of discrepancies in the Spanish translation of the Episode list. Some episodes appear to be direct translations of the original title in English, but do not match the official title they were released with on Sci-Fi in Spain, or the ones listed on the Spanish-language DVD sets. I have been correcting episodes and I have changed the titles according to Sci-Fi throughout the thext (Episode Data, and every time the episode title is listed). -I didn't imply the callsign was self-given.  The other pilots would no doubt have found out about Troy and in classic harsh military humor (I'm in the Army; I know) they decided to call her Boomer.  And unless RDM has stated differently in a blog or podcast, it makes more sense than getting the nickname from her loud, crashing landings.
-Also, when Baltar asked about her callsign, she referenced Troy, not, "I make rough landings."

-Hi Chiefs! Following Shane's suggestion, we have started updating a few templates of the Spanish wiki since the ones used until  now had become obsolete. For some reason, deleting the old Episode Data one and replacing it with the Spanish translation of the one you're currently using here has resulted in chaos. Sure I have done something wrong, because for quite some time the system kinda mixed both templates (even if the old one had been deleted) and the translated episodes using the Episode Data template were all frakked up. I am the one doing the translation work but I don't want to mess up with the template's code once again, and Baltar Gaiolas is not confident either so.... would it possible for any of you guys, to give us a helping hand with this template?
