The rank of Captain, in the Colonial forces, is senior to a Lieutenant but below a Major.

- Lee "Apollo" Adama, as CAG of Galactica, prior to his promotion and assignment to Pegasus.
- Kara "Starbuck" Thrace, after her promotion by Admiral Helena Cain.
- Aaron Kelly, the landing signal officer and third-in-command of Galactica.
- Cole "Stinger" Taylor, former CAG of Pegasus.
- Karl "Helo" Agathon, since his time as XO of Galactica during the occupation of New Caprica.
