Is this an actual canonical name, or one we made up?--Ricimer 15:42, 30 January 2006 (EST)

I concur that this name sounds shady, mostly due to its lack of citations. It'd be nice if we could confirm it, or if not at least indicate that this is a placeholder and not canonical. --Steelviper 15:52, 30 January 2006 (EST)
As far as I know, it's non canonical. -- Joe Beaudoin 15:56, 30 January 2006 (EST)
Then it must be erradicated.--Ricimer 16:12, 30 January 2006 (EST)
We should ask User:Lestatdelc where he got the name. Unfortunatley, he hasn't been active for two months. I'd hesitate on deleting it, it could be from a podcast or a blog entry. --BMS 17:38, 30 January 2006 (EST)

Deletion Timer

My casual research indicates that this term is more fan-derived. I find nothing of this term yet in canonical sources, nor, as I think of it, is a logical separation; the Colonies appear to have a unified space defense force under the name of the Colonial Fleet. I'll be personally liberal in the time it takes to verify the source of this separation of armed sources, otherwise I will create a redirect of this article to Colonial Fleet. However, my fellow admins and our Imperial Bureaucrat may not be so forgiving as I am. --Spencerian 17:18, 31 January 2006 (EST)

Well, I actually believe upon viewing the evidence that "Colonial Fleet" and "Colonial Marine Corps" are two separate branches of the Colonial "military". However, I really want this article deleted because it is a fanon name, and "Colonial Defence Force" is only one of literally *dozens* of possible names for such an organization. Why not "Colonial Strategic Self Defense Force"? "Armed Forces of the Colonies?", or "Colonial Space Service?"; there are many possible names and "Defense Force" is only one of quite a few possibilities. --Ricimer 19:07, 31 January 2006 (EST)
Why not just decapitalize it, to remove the impression of an official name? --Peter Farago 21:13, 31 January 2006 (EST)
