Karl "Helo" Agathon applies a breach-sealing device on a breach in Raptor 312's main compartment (TRS: "Miniseries, Night 1").

A breach-sealing device is a hand-operated tool equipped aboard Raptors in the event of an inner-hull breach.

It is designed to be operated one-handed, with a plunging button on the handle's side for activation. The seal-end features a removable paper-like protective covering that is removed before application.

Following the massacre of Galactica's last Viper Mark VII squadron near Caprica, a piece of debris from an explosion by a missile-struck decoy penetrates Raptor 312's cabin, puncturing both the underbelly and Karl "Helo" Agathon's thigh, while damaging 312's fuel system in the process. Agathon is able to seal the breach with one such device stowed under his console before tending to his own wound (TRS: "Miniseries, Night 1").

  • The prop is a vacuum suction cup handling tool used for the lifting of glass, granite, or nonporous sheeting. Normally the handle plunging button would act as a quick release, and not as an activator.
