Biography
Leader of the Quorum at the time of the decimation of the 12 Colonies of Mankind, as well as commander of the Battlestar Atlantia. Deceived by Lord Baltar, he was maneuvered into embracing the façade of a forthcoming peace with the Cylon Empire, as was everyone else. Adar held back on suggestions from Adama concerning precautionary measures, which would have, at the very least, saved additional lives and military assets. However, Adar lamented upon the horrific discovery that the peace effort was all an affront to the Cylon's final strike against Humanity. Adar perished when Cylon raiders managed to take the Atlantia by surprise at Cimtar, thus heralding its destruction. (Saga of a Star World)
Notes
Lew Ayres was a pacifist who refused to be a soldier in the U.S. Military during World War II, but did partake in the war effort by saving lives as a medic. Also, Ayres' controversial ideas made some people (and companies) boycott his productions, i.e. Doctor Kildare.
