Here are some frequently asked questions about Battlestar Wiki.
What are the internal proper nouns used on this wiki and the TV shows?
For questions relating to proper nouns in Battlestar, see Battlestar Wiki:FAQ/Proper BSG nouns.
How do I write articles for the wiki?
The policy article, Battlestar Wiki:Standards and Conventions, explains the formatting and preferences contributors should use when editing an existing article, or creating a new one.
What constitutes an "official source" for information?
Please see Battlestar Wiki:Citation Jihad for information on what is considered as official information. You'll also find information on how speculation can be justified in writing an article without violating the {{NPOV}} policy.
How do I report or deal with vandalism?
Vandalism is a simple matter to deal with. You can either edit the document by removing the offending content or reverting it to a previous edit. However, it may be easier to report it to an administrator, who can revert a damaged article faster in many cases.
You should report all vandalism on the Wikipedian Quorum, with the vandal's user name and the vandalised page(s) in question. (This information can be found via the history page of the article.)
The Battlestar Wiki is an information and dissemination resource for canonical information on both series and their official sources. While we do not allow fan fiction or related information (such as non-canonical characters and events) to be listed in articles, please see the Fan fiction article for information on some fan-related material. Visit the Battlestar Wiki:Wikipedian Quorum to recommend an external link that may deserve inclusion on the Fan fiction article or subarticle.
Should you see non-canonical information in an article that isn't Fan fiction or its subarticles, please tag the article at the top of its page with a {{non-canon}} tag. It'll be dealt with accordingly by another contributor. Otherwiee, you may edit it yourself.
Can I add my own FAQ to this page?
If you feel that this page would benefit, you may feel free to add your own questions (with the answers, logically!) to this page. Any additions or corrections would be appreciated, and it falls within the spirit of a wiki.
