The Majahual is a mining ship in the Fleet. It conducts mining operations for five weeks in the asteroid belt of an unnamed star system, during which time the Colonials face repeated harassment by Cylon Raiders.
The battlestar Galactica stays behind to protect the Majahual during its mining. Galactica must use visual sighting from their CAP Vipers to eliminate the Raiders since DRADIS cannot differentiate the system's debris from the enemy fighters.
The Majahual is able to collect enough "strategic ore" to allow the Viper construction resources on the battlestar Pegasus an opportunity to construct at least two squadrons of Viper Mk. VII fighters (Scar).
