== Representation ==
In Black Market, Zarek is telling Lee he's not involved in the black market because "I represent Astral Queen." Now since we have no other evidence to go one that the Quorum is any different than how it was prior to the destruction of the colonies, this is an interesting line. He should have said, in my opinion "I represent Sagitarron." Has anyone caught any other dialog that would indicate there are other legislative bodies (besides the Quorum) that would represent the ships? --[[User:RUSnooky|RUSnooky]] 00:15, 16 June 2007 (CDT)

Revision as of 05:15, 16 June 2007

It seems odd that a total of twelve planets would have a legislation consisting of one representative each. Perhaps the Quorum is merely the upper house of a much larger parliament, or a council to aid the president (but separate to the cabinet). Just my two cents. Kuralyov 16:41, 11 Feb 2005 (EST)

  • In the podcasting for Colonial Day RDM says the Quorum is a cross between the UN Security COuncil and the US Senate. He mentioned it being part of a bicameral legislature. (Alphaboi867 00:37, 23 Mar 2005 (EST))

Should it be mentioned who each rep voted for in the VP race?

Here's what I have, if anyone's interested:

Tauron - Baltar Aquaria - Zarek Aerelon - Zarek

Virgon most likely voted for Zarek, Caprica for Baltar, Sagittaron for Zarek, Picon and Gemenon probably voted for Zarek (mentioned earlier), but it's anyone's guess. Anyone else have thoughts on the matter? Ltcrashdown December 24, 2005

See Government, specifically, the "Elections" subheading. --Peter Farago 19:13, 24 December 2005 (EST)

Oops, again my mistake. Ltcrashdown

Hey, in Colonial Day deleted scene, you can see the names of Aerilon and Tauron's delegates. Alexander Amiet is from Aerilon and Pergia (check that please) Envito is from Tauron.--CoreyDanian 1.38pm (AEST) October 13 2006

Quorum Eligibility

Is it established anywhere tha a quorum member MUST be from the colony he or she represents? I have seen several places on the wiki where this is assumed, most notably on The Twelve Colonies page, but I can't think of any reference off the top of my head where this rule is mentioned. As an aside, especially for those of you who don't live in the US, a US senator does not have to be a native of the state they represent, but there are residency requirements. As an example, applying that to the BSG universe, Baltar would be eligible to be a Quorum rep from Caprica, despite being an Aerelon native.--RUSnooky 20:16, 8 June 2007 (CDT)

You're correct in that this does seem to be the general assumption and there is nothing saying that you have to be a resident of the colony, instead of originating from the colony you represent. We should probably remove this assumption if we don't have evidence to really support it. -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Sanctuary Wiki — New 21:05, 8 June 2007 (CDT)
You would have to say former resident though, as they don't actually live in those nuclear wastelands any more :) --Catrope(Talk to me or e-mail me) 16:02, 10 June 2007 (CDT)
