In the discussion of the doctor's smoking habit. RDM calls this "my one sop to the idea of an idealized society". Someone well-intentioned added the definition "[Standard Operating Procedure]" after "sop", probably after looking it up on an online dictionary. Unfortunately, this is incorrect. "sop" in this case does not refer to the abbreviation SOP, but to the word "sop: noun, 1. A piece of food soaked or dipped in a liquid. 2a. Something yielded to placate or soothe. b. A bribe."

Haha, this after showing us cased ammo for two seasons? They could've still had ammo sabotage with caseless ammo, though, it would have been spiking the propellant shroud of the shell. 10 minutes of research would've been enough to come up with that, if they'd bothered (I assume writers are at bare minimum as creative as myself ;) ). I think if they were too lazy to make up caseless round props for the episode, they shouldn't try to dance their way around what they chose to show. Maybe someone should drop RDM an email about something called "combustable casing". Since we don't see Vipers ejecting spent shells during gun operation, that's probably the best solution. Either that or they hold on to the empty shells, not really a good thing considering that means they'd hold on to a lot of heat from firing the guns and heat disappation is a pain in space. --David Templar 15:19, 17 March 2006 (CST)

I've added the Series Data infobox, but I'm unsure about some of the parameters:
* episodes: Since the full number of episodes is already known (74), I've used that. The (list) link doesn't list them all, however, as we don't know all of the titles yet.
* All of the producers. I know RDM and Eick are exec producers, and Jane Espenson and Toni Graphia's bios say they're co-exec producers (I've listed them as co-producers), but I haven't been able to find any other producer information.

I hear that NBC may be trying to make a spinoff of BSG, focused on either the Caprica resistance or on the crew of the Celestra research vessel (a third option of following the Pegasus crew was abandoned). Apparently, NBC is jealous of SciFi, and of RDM's unwillingness to bring BSG over to NBC. Kuralyov 01:02, 24 Jul 2005 (EDT)

No the spin off is actually about the Adama's family on CAprica 40 years before the Re-imagined BSG took place, its about the family living in a very high technological world but then the cylons are created... and yeah... (gateworld article or something)
Well, I guess I've heard of more short-sighted things... -- Joe Beaudoin 10:28, 24 Jul 2005 (EDT)
That kinda...doesn't make sense. They should just be happy that they get the money from the channel that they OWN. -- YeNguyen 12:42, 24 Jul 2005 (EST)
I think their reasoning is that if it were on NBC as opposed to SciFi, they'd get more viewers and thus more money - and if they had a show on each, then there'd be even more money than that. Kuralyov 22:13, 24 Jul 2005 (EDT)
I've got the theme songs of the first and second season, but don't know how to convert them into an .ogg file, can someone help? --Blacklight
I'm afraid that we aren't going to be able to use them, anyway. For one, we need to have permission to use them anyway; as of right now, both themes are available on the season 1 soundtrack, and were we to post them, we'd probably get in trouble for copyright infringement. Something that I seriously do not want to occur. -- Joe Beaudoin 21:50, 30 September 2005 (EDT)
Ah alright, not a problem. --Blacklight

sop vs. SOP

2a. Something yielded to placate or soothe. b. A bribe."

I simply removed the bracketed addition.--Jasontondro 15:19, 23 December 2005 (EST)

You're right, but the funny part is, the second, "incorrect" context does actually "fit" as well. :) If you read it as "... my one Standard Operating Procedure to the idea..." you can hear the sarcasm. A little disjointed, but still. But yes, you are right, it should be "sop". -- Hawke 14:46, 16 February 2006 (EST)

Caseless Ammo?

From the official statements: "[The bullets] are some sort of caseless ammunition." Hmmm. That would make sabotaging the casing a little bit more difficult then, wouldn't it? Bah. This is why writers hate being pinned down by technical details. --Steelviper 13:45, 16 February 2006 (EST)

Haha, this after showing us cased ammo for two seasons? Crashdown/Billy Conspiracy

okay, what is the policy for removing characters from the stars/co-stars list? I noticed crashdown was removed and wondered if Billy should be as well. It seems like Billy has done more, but he is dead now. --Aggie 23:20, 23 March 2006 (CST)

There is currently no clear distinction between recurring characters and guest stars. If you have anything in mind, I'd be very interested in hearing it. --April Arcus 00:00, 24 March 2006 (CST)
