Sexy Treason Stubble is the sparse facial hair worn regularly by Gaius Baltar after his capitulation to the Cylons on New Caprica.

In the real world, stubble has come in and out of style depending on the times. While quite popular in 16th century Germany, those who wore stubble in the early-to-mid twentieth century were often considered unattractive, unrefined, and even unclean.

The popularity of stubble resurged in the 1980s, popularized by the TV series Miami Vice.
