Flight 2 is the Boeing 747-100[1] civilian passenger aircraft Troy and Dillon first ride in on October 31,1980 CE.
Unable to use their Vipers due to heightened air security following the detection of an unknown craft falling from orbit the night of October 30th, Jamie Hamilton books a 9 AM flight for Troy and Dillon (under the alias of Smith and Jones, respectively) from Los Angeles International Airport.
The flight is eventful, as two Cuban terrorists hold a stewardess hostage in an attempt to hijack the plane and divert it to Cuba; Troy and Dillon stop this by quickly stunning the hijackers with their laser derringers, unfortunately witnessed by a meddlesome young boy. They are lauded as heroes by crew and passengers alike despite their pleas of ignorance, and are asked to stay behind for questioning by law enforcement. Upon landing at JFK Airport, the Warriors use their invisibility fields to disembark unseen, knocking over law enforcement and a swath of press in the process (1980: "The Night the Cylons Landed, Part I").
Notes
Three different Boeing 747-100s are depicted for Flight 2 in Galactica 1980's "The Night the Cylons Landed, Part I". The first one is an American Airlines Boeing 747-123 during take-off, as denoted by its red, white, and blue striping across the lower part of the fuselage. The 2nd is a mid-range shot of a Trans-World Airlines Boeing 747-131 during transit, denoted by the logo and coloration on its empennage. The 3rd shot (during dusk) is a Boeing 747-123 from Airplane 1975's Columbia Airlines, given the logo on its empennage.
