::yeah, true, i was just thinking that since we won't be getting much new information about either the STO or the monotheist church, that the two pages together would create a fairly substantial entry and since, like i said, the STO is a part of the church, like the conclave is, it made sense. both [[Galactica (RDM)]] and [[Squadrons of Galactica]] are huge pages that would be a lot more difficult to merge. anyway, thanks. Infinity Symbol in Cylon Religion[edit]
When I first watched "Caprica" I noticed that it contained a connection between the Monotheistic sect we saw there and the modern Cylon religion from BSG, which was the infinity symbol.
In "Islanded in a Stream of Stars" we witness a Cylon funeral, and although it's not very clear at all in the actual episode the Cylons are using various amulets which contain this exact shape. I noticed only because I saw the props go up in the Ebay auction back when the episode aired, and so when I watched "Caprica" I saw it as a clear connection, but I've noticed that it hasn't been exactly commented on.
Now, it's a fairly common speculation that this cult is where the Caprican Centurion's religion came from, but the usage of the same symbol is an even greater connection, and thus it's quite deserving of a mention, I believe. The reason why I didn't mention this before is that the pages showing the props went down when the auction was over, but recently I found an archival website of all the props that were auctioned, and I present the following four links as "evidence" of the props utilized during that episode that create this stronger connection between the monotheistic religions in the show:
I wanted to discuss it here first, and post the links to the props, but I think it's a very interesting connection that I wish had been made more obvious in the main show and wouldn't have required a prop auction for us to notice. --Sauron18 19:42, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- The Infinity Symbol is part of the Cylon religion, and was introduced in late Season 4 of BSG ("Islanded," as you said). So, yes, it's worth noting. And, if you'd be so kind, it can probably find a home in the Cylon Religion article as well. ;-) -- Joe Beaudoin So say we all - Donate - Battlestar Pegasus 21:45, 2 August 2009 (UTC)
- Alright, I will make additions to the articles, then. --Sauron18 22:15, 2 August 2009 (UTC)

merge with monotheist church?[edit]
i went ahead and included a small section about the STO in the Monotheist Church article, but since the STO is a branch of that church, i was wondering if it would be wise to join the two articles? Pst001 09:28, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

- Another reason to keep it separate (Don't know much what the final set of episodes do), is that the episodes that have aired make it clear that the Monotheist Church and the STO, while 'together' (nearly one and in the same for lack of better terms), the two are in fact, separate entities and in some cases, have separate agendas. --Typhoeus 21:42, 8 November 2010 (UTC)
