Welcome, Meteor. I normally leave comments to people when something is wrong after their first edits to the wiki. Your contribution on Kobol was inaccurate, but I understand the confusion. In the series timeline, the oracle Pythia wrote her passages 3,600 years P.T.M. (prior to the miniseries and "present day"), about the same time as the Thirteenth Tribe left Kobol for Earth, stopping on the algae planet for a time and leaving the Temple of Five. Tyrol's comment that the Temple is 4,000 years old, given that he's not an archeologist or a historian, is generally correct. The Twelve Tribes, which made the Colonies, left 2,000 years P.T.M., or almost 2,000 years later. So there's not really a contradiction there, just a little inaccuracy on Tyrol's part. Be sure to read the standards and conventions for submitting contributions; your edit was also awkwardly placed. Thanks for contributing and enjoy! --Spencerian 10:19, 20 December 2006 (CST)
:In reply to your response: Thanks for your clarification, Meteor. You might have discovered a continuity error or, most likely, an early retcon. See Continuity errors (RDM) to see if anyone else has noted what you believe is an error. If not, please add it to the appropriate place in both that article and as a note in the Sacred Scrolls and Kobol articles, preferably as a footnote to keep the article speaking "in-universe." Be sure to cite the episode and dialogue if possible. --Spencerian 19:53, 25 December 2006 (CST)
== Recent Rollback on Saul Tigh ==
Hey there. I rolled back your information on Saul Tigh's article because of some important factoids. One, as a final five Cylon, the qualifiers of being a humanoid Cylon (such as falsified families and memories) don't necessarily apply to these guys. We really have no idea. Two, Saul (from the perspective of Adama and us) ages, something no other Cylon appears to do (and doesn't, if Cavil in The Eye of Jupiter is to be believed). The deleted scenes are generally considered canonical unless aired information contradicts them. Saul and the others are going to be a pickle to classify, but it's best to keep this one as-is, especially about his family, since there may be more to being a Cylon than being a mere machine. --Spencerian 13:50, 20 April 2007 (CDT)
:One note: Rather than deleting the information, you could rearrange it and note the natural contradiction of Saul's history and being some kind of special Cylon. -- Spencerian 13:54, 20 April 2007 (CDT) (Talk - Contrib Skillz - Edit Skillz)
::Yeah, I agree that it shouldn't be deleted altogether. Making a footnote after the passages in question would work though. But that also shouldn't be "This can't possibly be true", but rather something like "This information is in doubt in light of recent developments" --Serenity 14:02, 20 April 2007 (CDT) |

Welcome to Battlestar Wiki!
Welcome to the Wiki, Meteor. Feel free to tell us about yourself on your user page. Before you get started on other edits, please read the Standards and Conventions, which details the policies we use in editing pages (this differs from many other wikis in its particular use of verb tense, abbreviations, formatting, and the like). If you need help in learning how to use the MediaWiki tools supported here, you can check out the tutorial and the wiki markup code pages for assistance.
Please read the articles "What is Battlestar Wiki" and "What Battlestar Wiki is Not." This important information details what contributions are acceptable in this encyclopedia.
We encourage you to participate in any projects on Battlestar Wiki, which work to enhance a particular subject or extension of the wiki. These include the Original Series Article Development Project and several language translations of Battlestar Wiki. If you have a new idea for a new project, visit the Think Tank, where we hash out large-scale ideas before implementing them.
Also, if you have any questions or suggestions you wish to offer, please feel free to do so either on an article's talk page that's relevant to the subject, the Wikipedian Quorum or the Administrators' noticeboard. Remember to sign your posts on any talk pages using four tildes (~~~~)!

Recent Rollback on Saul Tigh
- One note: Rather than deleting the information, you could rearrange it and note the natural contradiction of Saul's history and being some kind of special Cylon. -- Spencerian 13:54, 20 April 2007 (CDT) (Talk - Contrib Skillz - Edit Skillz)
- Yeah, I agree that it shouldn't be deleted altogether. Making a footnote after the passages in question would work though. But that also shouldn't be "This can't possibly be true", but rather something like "This information is in doubt in light of recent developments" --Serenity 14:02, 20 April 2007 (CDT)
