Calum Worthy (born January 28, 1991 in Victoria, British Columbia) is the actor who portrays Cass in the Caprica episode "Blowback". In the podcast commentary for "Blowback," actress Magda Apanowicz praised Worthy's portrayal of Cass, calling him "so ridiculously talented" and predicting he has an "amazing future." She also noted that his performance during the simulated execution was so emotionally powerful that it moved the other actors on set.[1]
Inspired to become an actor at age four after seeing Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone, Worthy had his first leading role at age 10, starring in the BBC mini-series I Was A Rat with Brenda Fricker and Tom Conti. In 2003, he worked on the six-episode HBO mini-series Out of Order, playing a young Eric Stoltz.
Worthy has appeared in numerous television series, including ABC Family's Kyle XY, The CW's Supernatural and Smallville, The Hub's R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour, Disney XD's Zeke and Luther, and Disney Channel's Good Luck Charlie. As of 2013, Worthy is a series regular on the Disney series Austin and Ally.
He is a six-time nominee and two-time "Leading Young Actor" winner of the Young Artist Award for his performances in National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Family Reunion (2003) and Stormworld (2010). He also won the "Leading Actor" award at the Leo Awards in 2010 for his performance in Stormworld.
His other genre appearance includes a role in one episode of Stargate Atlantis.
