Tauron University is a college, presumably on Tauron.
When Odin Maxwell comments on Gaius Baltar's likely departure from Caprica University because of his behavior, Maxwell mentions that Baltar wouldn't even have a chance of entering this higher learning center. From the connotation of this conversation, Tauron University appears to hold a lower stature amongst its peers ((Comics: Battlestar Galactica: Origins #2)).
